Crime Dog Classic
- August 30, 2007
Just up the highway from XanGo headquarters, the McGruff Summer Classic teed off for its 5th straight year under XanGo’s title sponsorship. On August 22, 2007, at Eaglewood Golf Course, the classic offered all in attendance the opportunity to ‘take a bite out of crime’ in this beautiful mountainside setting.
The Classic brought a host of high-profile players, their teams and donations rolling in for the benefit of the McGruff House Network. Our own Lehi offices sent out a slew of XanGo supporters, greeters and golfers to the greenery to make sure both Goodness and golf reigned supreme. We had four teams enter the field (including our very first all-women’s team), and Kent Wood took his foursome straight into the Top 3, golfing alongside former Utah Jazz coach Frank Layden.
XanGo employees joined Goodness Coordinator Carolyn Anderson at a couple of the hotter holes to meet the golfers with cold shots of XanGo® Juice. Needless to say, they were a happy sight for the warm and weary players.
Surpassing all previous McGruff Summer Classic Golf Tournaments, this year’s auction was really something special. Raising well above our goal of $10,000, the much needed funds will strengthen the foundation and continue the important work of McGruff.
Tibby Milne, founder of McGruff House, expressed her love and appreciation to the XanGo Founders for supporting this event and ensuring that it gets better every year. She readily credits XanGo for the fact that the Crime Dog is still up and running, providing safehouses across the nation. And we readily credit our XanGo distributors for making our ongoing support possible. We will be back next year: sponsor, partner, player and friend.
