Dispatch from the Island State: Elevation Retreat
- June 13, 2007
For those wanting a taste of our Elevation Retreat in Hawaii, here’s your double serving. The event began in classic XanGo form—a reception of food, music, mingling and fun. Chairman Gary Hollister kicked things off with a welcome and President and CEO Aaron Garrity brought everyone close by addressing unity.
President of Operations Kent Wood kept smiles on everyone’s faces with his report on XanGo’s incredible numbers and growth. Gordon Morton Sr. and Armando de Guzman followed by sharing some of their own thoughts and inspirations.
Day one ended with a bit of play on the greens of one of the greenest places on earth, the Grand Wailea Golf Course. When a golf tournament is named after an individual playing in said tournament, there’s a good indication you know who the winner is going to be. And so it was with the Gary Hollister Golf Classic.
The next day, President of International and Distributor Relations Joe Morton and President of Sales and Marketing Gordon Morton each offered heartfelt words of encouragement. Doug Wead, author of All the Presidents’ Children and former Special Assistant to the President, delivered the keynote address on how personal success is entirely up to the individual involved.
Following Doug’s uplifting words, even more fun was had in what is becoming a popular sport, a GPS treasure hunt. And, finally, the Retreat was capped off in typically hospitable Hawaiian fashion—a Luau hosted by Executive VP of International Relations Bryan Davis. More music, native dancers and lots more food. With a lineup like this one, it was almost hard to say goodbye.
